Our split system installation services

  • Single split system

An indoor unit is mounted high on an internal wall and connected to an outdoor condenser. They’re ideal for individual bedrooms, living areas, home offices and other single spaces.

  • Multi-head split systems

A multi-split system connects multiple indoor units to a single outdoor unit. This can be particularly useful when you want to air condition several rooms but have limited outdoor space or would prefer not to have multiple condenser units around the property.

  • Upgrading old split systems

We can remove your existing unit and install a modern replacement, taking care of the electrical and air conditioning work required for a neat, professional upgrade.

What’s involved in installing a split system?

  • Choosing the right split system

Before installation, we consider the size and layout of the room, insulation, windows, sun exposure and how the space is used. This helps determine an appropriate system capacity rather than simply assuming bigger is better.

  • Planning the indoor and outdoor locations

We work out suitable positions for both the indoor head unit and outdoor condenser. This involves considering airflow, appearance, access, drainage, pipework and where the outdoor unit can operate without creating unnecessary noise or obstruction.

  • Preparing the installation

Once the positions are confirmed, we install the mounting hardware and create the required access for the refrigerant pipework, drainage and electrical connections. Where pipework needs to run externally, it can be enclosed within neat protective ducting.

  • Installing the indoor unit

The indoor split system is securely mounted and carefully positioned so it sits straight and provides effective airflow throughout the room. Refrigerant lines, drainage and electrical connections are then run between the indoor and outdoor components.

  • Installing the outdoor unit

The condenser is positioned outside on an appropriate base or mounting brackets with sufficient clearance for airflow and future servicing. We also consider vibration, noise and how neatly the unit can be incorporated around the property.

  • Refrigerant pipework and drainage

Insulated refrigerant lines connect the indoor and outdoor units, while condensate drainage allows moisture collected by the indoor unit to discharge appropriately. These connections need to be installed correctly for reliable and efficient operation.

  • Electrical connections

A split system requires an appropriate electrical supply and circuit protection. We assess the electrical requirements of the particular unit and complete the necessary connections so the installation is safe and compliant.

  • Testing and commissioning

Once everything is connected, the system is commissioned and tested. We check operation, airflow, temperature performance, drainage and the installation as a whole to make sure everything is operating as intended.

  • Showing you how everything works

Before we leave, we’ll show you the basic controls and explain how to get the most from your new split system, including heating and cooling modes, temperature settings and any useful functions available on your particular unit.

  • Cool the rooms you actually use

Split systems offer targeted heating and cooling without conditioning the entire home. They are a practical choice for bedrooms, living areas, home offices and other frequently used spaces.

  • The right split system starts with the right advice

Getting great performance isn’t just about choosing a good brand. The system needs to suit the size, layout and demands of your space. We’ll help you choose an appropriately sized split system and install it properly from the start.

  • Everyting neat, inside and out.

A split system installation doesn’t need to leave ugly pipework running all over your home. We carefully consider the positioning of the indoor and outdoor units and keep external pipework and covers as neat and discreet as practical.

  • Out with the old, in with the efficient

We can remove your ageing split system and install a modern replacement, taking care of the electrical, refrigeration and installation work required to make the transition as straightforward as possible.

    • This company ticks all the boxes. They are professional, knowledgeable, timely, good communicators, friendly, tidy, etc. No, they are not the least expensive option you’ll find out there, but you will most definitely get your money’s worth. They do the job right the first time, use top-notch products and do it all with a smile.  Brad and his team are worth it!

    • Brad is brilliant with his prompt communication and punctuality.
Brad and Levi’s workmanship is thorough and safety is paramount for them. I was extremely impressed that Brad did a safety check as the first thing at the quoting stage.

Brad and Levi are honest and open if you have any follow up queries.
I have already passed on Limelight Electrix details to a family member and wouldn’t hesitate to give their details to anyone who was after a superior Electrician. More than highly recommended!!

    • Would highly recommend Brad and his team for any electrical work.  We have just used Limelight again to complete a variety of work at our recently purchased house, this will be about the fifth time we have used them and every time we cannot fault Brads work.

Whilst you may find cheaper quotes, you won’t find better quality – something we weren’t willing to comprise when dealing with electricity, not to mention presentation of our house.  We had one minor hiccup with a phone line, they were straight back out to resolve it at no cost.  They always call on the way to the job and stick to the agreed times.
