We booked limelight for what we thought was an issue with the AC as there was a funny smell in the room. They communicated really well and we're able to come out same day. Turns out it was a dead rat in the roof above the room. Nick probably would have been within his rights to tell us to get a pest control person in, but he got into the roof, removed the rat and spread rat poison around. Great, friendly and professional service that went above and beyond.

We have used Limelight Electrix on a number of occasions over the years. Each time Brad is very quick to reply and gets the job done, even at a last minute notice. We recently had Brad and Nic out to change over our lights to LEDs and to reposition some of the lights in our new ceiling. Nic was a fast, efficient worker and very clean. Rheadon , Nick j , From the start of the job were up front on cost and what needed to be carried out.These two young blokes were very professional and proficient in carrying out the works to my Mum and Dad house they checked all light fittings , smoke alarms and earthling to the house.They had to change out the switch board becauce it wasnt to the current regulations.We were told they would be at my dads house at 10;30 by Brad the manager and they were on time excellent communication to my parents .I would recommend Limelight Electrix to any one that requires electrical work carried out, and if we require anything else done electrical we will be using this company again.Rob on behalf of my parents.Thanks Rheadon, Nick J and Brad.

Brad not only arrived on time, but delivered a very high quality of work. He spent time with me to understand what was important to me so that he could best deliver value for money outcomes to me, considering my tight budget. Furthermore, where he or his team found any damaged roof tiles they fixed them straight away, or any issues with non-compliance (such as smoke detectors being out of date) which impacts my insurance policy, he promptly brought it to my attention and gave me the choice to fix it there and then or when my budget would allow for it.A very professional run outfit with friendly, dependable service delivering the highest levels of quality with a focus on best value outcomes. Would highly recommend Brad and his team for any electrical work. We have just used Limelight again to complete a variety of work at our recently purchased house, this will be about the fifth time we have used them and every time we cannot fault Brads work.Whilst you may find cheaper quotes, you won’t find better quality - something we weren’t willing to comprise when dealing with electricity, not to mention presentation of our house. We had one minor hiccup with a phone line, they were straight back out to resolve it at no cost. They always call on the way to the job and stick to the agreed times.

Contact Limelight for all electrical work. Different electricians over the years but always deal with director Brad.I have had minor and major electrical work. Ranging from aeiling fans, lights and power outlet replaced, new reverse cycle A/C install through to a completely new 3 phase power cable and new fuse box to replace existing.On time:Attend when they day they will. Always call if they can come early. Attend after hours promptly.Service:The electricians are keen, enthusiastic and hard working. Brad seems to know how to employ and train tradies with a great attitude. Of special note is the focus cleaning up after domestic work. I appreciate it.Quotes:They spend time providing realistic quotes before any work and then adhere to the quote. Unexpected problems they cope with and talk through any variations. I never been asked for more money at the end of the job.Safety:The electricians are very safety conscious. I recall a remark, "I'm not allowed to work beyond 8 hours on the tools because that's when you get tired and start making mistakes." They always call Brad when in any doubt to make sure that the work they are doing complies with regulations, "After all, it's my name and license on the safety electrical certificate."

What are the benefits of mains-powered smoke alarms over battery-powered ones?
Mains-powered smoke alarms are connected directly to your home’s electrical system, making them very reliable. They usually have a battery backup to work during power outages. These alarms are more dependable and need fewer battery changes than battery-only models.
Since 1 July 1997, it has been a legal requirement that to install mains-powered smoke alarms in all new residential buildings and extensions in WA. Adding to this, any owner looking to sell or rent has needed to have a main-powered Smoke alarm fitted since October 2009.
Why Do Smoke Alarms Chirp or Beep in the Middle of the Night?
A chirping or beeping smoke alarm usually signals a low battery. This often happens at night due to a combination of the battery’s charge level and the home’s cooler temperatures. As the battery nears the end of its life, it produces less power. Lower room temperatures increase the battery’s internal resistance, triggering the low-battery chirp mode. Homes are typically coolest between 2:00am and 6:00am, causing the alarm to sound.
- Replace 9V batteries with new alkaline ones annually, ensuring proper contact with battery terminals.
- Check the smoke alarm’s manufacture date. All alarms, whether battery-operated or hardwired, should be replaced every 10 years. If your alarms are near or over 10 years old, or lack a date, replace them.
